Get Involved
Private renters exist in every community and we have a greater impact when we work together. If you are a private renter, join the mailing list to keep updated about our work. Below are some other opportunities to improve private renting and ensure renters know their rights.
Campaigns
Licencing offers a better regulated private sector, better standard of accommodation for tenants and, in some instances, repayment of rent. As Southwark Council continues to steadily expand the scheme across the borough, we believe that understanding licencing and how it can benefit private renters is crucial.
As a result, we developed an awareness campaign for Southwark’s private renters.

Help Shelter reach their target of 10,000 signatures for their online petition to:
- end all unfair evictions
- tackle discrimination in all its forms
- protect renters from the threat of eviction for longer
- extend notice periods to four months
- commit to a fully comprehensive landlord register
The Renters’ Rights Bill is once-in-a-generation chance to change renting for good and ensure private renters win the security and rights they deserve. Every signature counts! Sign the petition!
Work with us
Collaboration is key to improving the private rental sector. We are interesting in working together in any way possible, however, we are particularly interested in partnering on:
- Delivering our Know Your Housing Rights educational sessions
- Campaigns that work towards an improved private rented sector
