The Renters’ Rights Bill passed its second reading in Parliament on 9th October. It is currently with a Public Bill Committee, which is expected to report back to the House by 28th November 2024. The bill seeks to abolish Section 21 (no fault) evictions and make it illegal to discriminate against renters with children or those in receipt of benefits.
