Further information about your rights

Shelter is a leading housing charity, providing information and advice about all forms of housing, including private renting. They have resources about the changes to private renting under the Renters’ Rights Act, and guidance on all aspects of renting.

Citizens Advice provide free, confidential advice on housing, welfare benefits, debt and other problems. They provide online advice on what to do if you have issues with your private rented housing.

More changes are coming for renters!

We’re currently just in Phase 1 of the implementation of the Renters’ Rights Act.
Further changes are coming, with the introduction of a PRS Database and PRS Landlord Ombudsman from late 2026, and a new Decent Homes Standard for the private rented sector in 2035 or 2037.
